About Us!

My photo
We are Elizabeth and Allan Pack and have been married 8 years. In November 2011 we took that leap of faith and applied to adopt a child from Ethiopia. This blog is all about our journey from start to finish. We patiently waited for 5 years to bring our child home and as of April 2016 we felt God was leading us to withdraw from the program and help another family bring home their child.

What a roller coaster ride!

So much has happened in the past few weeks!

Last weekend as we were making sure all the paperwork was ready to send in, we found out that 7 of our documents have or are expiring in the next few weeks. To be honest, at this point, I was so discouraged  and ready to give up! But, God helped me through this time and has blessed me with some amazing friends who love and encourage me. So often I get caught up in this paperwork and financial stuff that I lose sight of the end result, the Child! So anyways, finding all this out, sent us into panic mode and we e-mailed our case worker but of course she was out of the office for three days and the other case worker said it would be best to ask our case worker! So while we were waiting, we called the doctors to schedule our physicals and printed out all the documents that needed to be re-done. We also still had the problem of not having enough money. But, the Lord provided once again and someone let us borrow the money! What a blessing that was! Our case worker called and told me that if we could send in our Dossier now then there was a possibility that it might be Ok. So, we over-nighted our Dossier to her and now we wait to see if they will approve it or not! We pray that they will over-look the few documents that are expired and let it go through! If so, our DTE (Dossier to Ethiopia) date will be 3/22/13 (the day after Allan's bday)! We will receive a phone call on this day letting us know either way what is going on. So, we just ask that you pray for this paperwork as it is being sent to DC for final approval before going to Ethiopia. God has a plan and it is so awesome to see how it unfolds. This journey has many ups and downs but it has been so worth it! I have been discouraged, overwhelmed and ready to give up but I have a God who provides comfort, peace and strength and has helped me every step of the way! This journey has been hard but it has allowed us to lean on God and grow so much closer to Him. At this point,  if the door closes, I won't regret anything that we have done!

We had our Parent's Night Out at Church on Sunday! We had two families take advantage of the date night and are so grateful! Everything went well and we are so thankful for our friends who continue to help us with every fundraiser we do! We really couldn't do any of it without them! They are such a strong support team for us and we appreciate them! I'm also thankful for my mom and her creative ideas; we made paper bag puppets and straw necklaces with the kids.

We have a Zumba fundraiser planned for April 27th and our Both Hands project is planned for May 18th. We will give more details soon! :o) We also have been super busy, but will have a new picture of the puzzle soon! So, check back to see the progress!

Here are some pictures from Parent's Night Out!
